West Bengal is a very big and beautiful state in India. It has many cities like Kolkata, Howrah, Durgapur, Siliguri and many more small towns and villages. In this state there are so many schools for children. Some schools are very big and famous and some schools are small but they also teach very nicely. Education is very important for all children because when we study we can become doctors, teachers, engineers and many other big things in life. In West Bengal schools are government school and private school both are there. Some schools follow CBSE board, some follow ICSE board and many follow West Bengal Board. All schools try to make students good in study and also good human beings.

In this essay I am writing about many schools in West Bengal. I am also talking about my school “sksps” because it is also a very good school and we are proud of it.
BIG AND FAMOUS SCHOOLS IN KOLKATA
Kolkata is the capital of West Bengal and it has many famous schools. La Martiniere for Boys and La Martiniere for Girls are very old school. They are very big and have nice buildings. Many famous people studied there. The school has a big playground and smart classes also.
St. Xavier’s Collegiate School is also a very famous school. It teaches students very good discipline. Many parents want their child to take admission there but admission is a little difficult because many students apply.
South Point High School is also a very big school. It has many students. The teachers are very helpful and they teach nicely. The school also does sports, dance, music and many competitions.
All these schools are known for good results and good education. Students who study there work very hard and get good marks in board exams.
SCHOOLS IN HOWRAH AND DURGAPUR
Howrah is near to Kolkata and it also has many schools. St. Thomas’ Church School is one nice school there. It teaches students with good values. The school building is clean and the teachers are kind.
In Durgapur there is Delhi Public School. It is a very big and modern school. Many children go there by school bus. They have a computer lab, science lab and library. Students also play cricket, football and basketball.
Hem Sheela Model School in Durgapur is also very good. It follows CBSE board. The result of school is good and many students pass with high marks. Assembly of God Church School is also famous in Durgapur city.
Schools in these cities help students to grow in study and also in extra activities.
SCHOOLS IN SILIGURI AND NORTH BENGAL
Siliguri is in North Bengal and it is a very nice place near hills. Delhi Public School Siliguri is a very well known school. It has a big campus and green ground. Teachers teach with smart boards and students enjoy learning.
Don Bosco School in Siliguri is also very famous. It teaches discipline and respect. Students wear neat uniforms and follow rules.
In Darjeeling there is St. Joseph’s School and St. Paul’s School. These are boarding schools and many students from other states also come to study. They are located in a hill area and the weather is cool. The school building looks very beautiful.
Schools in North Bengal give good education and also teach about nature and environment because many schools are near mountains and trees.

GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS IN WEST BENGAL
West Bengal also has many government schools. These schools are run by the state government. In village areas many children go to government school because fees are low. Teachers in government schools are also qualified and teach well. Some schools have mid day meals also so students get food in the afternoon.
Government schools follow the West Bengal Board mostly. Students learn Bengali, English, Math, Science and Social studies. Even if the building is not very big, education is important. Many students from government schools also become officers and teachers in future.
OUR SCHOOL “SKSPS”
Now I want to tell you about our school “sksps”. Our school is very good and we all love it very much. sksps follow CBSE board and it gives a nice education to all students. The teachers are very caring and they help us when we do not understand something.
Our school has big classrooms and a clean blackboard. We have a computer lab where we learn typing and basic computers. There is also a library where we read story books. I like to read story books from the library because it makes my English better.
In sksps we also celebrate many functions like Independence day, Republic day, Teachers day and annual functions. We dance and sing. Sports day is also there and we run races and play games.
Our principal is very kind and she always tells us to study hard and respect parents and teachers. We wear neat uniforms and come to school on time. I feel very happy to study in sksps school.
WHY SCHOOLS ARE IMPORTANT
Schools are very important for every child. In school we not only study books but we also learn manners and discipline. Teachers teach us how to talk nicely and how to behave well. If we do not go to school we cannot read and write properly.
In West Bengal there are many schools so parents can choose a good school for their child. Some parents choose a big famous school and some choose near home school. All schools try to give the best education.
When students study in a good school they get confidence. They can speak in English and also in Bengali. They make friends and enjoy childhood. School life is a very special time for every student.
CONCLUSION
Lastly, I want to say that West Bengal has many schools in Kolkata, Howrah, Durgapur, Siliguri, Darjeeling and other places. Some schools are very old and famous and some are new but modern. Government and private schools both are helping students to learn and grow.
Our school SKSPS is also one good school in West Bengal. We are proud student of sksps. Education is key to success and all children should go to school daily and study hard. If we study good today then tomorrow we become big person and make our parents proud.
